Worship and Music

Chancel Choir: The Chancel Choir meets every Wednesday evening from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., occasionally longer prior to major performances such as Christmas and Easter. We meet in the choir room at the church. We rehearse from September until June each year and take the remainder of June, July and August off. During the off time we use various soloists and instrumentalist from the church and their visiting relatives and friends. The choir sings for each service and does something special for Christmas and Easter. The choir is open to any one from grade 9th to ??? and you can join at anytime and if you prefer to sing only for Christmas and Easter that is acceptable and encouraged as well.

Handbell Choir: The hand bell choir meets every Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. We have 3+ octaves of bells and are always looking for people that read music and are interested in learning how to play bells or if they have prior experience to come and join us. The bells usually play once per month and for Christmas and Easter. Also, the bells are sometimes used with the hymns during the service and for special concerts and festivals throughout the year at our church and other venues. The hand bell choir takes the same vacation time as the Chancel Choir.

Children’s Choir: The children’s choir meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. in the choir room during the school year. They present a Christmas Program after one of the Sunday morning services during Advent with a luncheon. The children sing periodically during the year for various church services prior to their time in Children’s Church. This group is open to anyone from K through 6th Grade. This choir learns the fundamentals of music while singing fun songs with movement and instruments.

We have something musically for everyone at FPC so come and join us at any time! Even if it is just to listen to God speak to your heart and soul through music in our church. We look forward to seeing you at our worship services and our concerts anytime that you can make it!
