Church Leadership
 Pastor: Dr Joseph Parker
Dr. Parker came to serve as the Pastor of FPC/Plano in June of 2001, after serving 10 years as Executive Minister at Highland Park Presbyterian Church. He is a graduate of Union Seminary in Virginia and has completed a Masters of Arts in Counseling and requirements for licensure as a therapist; additionally he earned his MBA in 1999, and has completed the Graduate Certification program at SMU in Alternative Dispute Resolution (2003). Dr. Parker is a member of the adjunct staff at Amberton University, serves as a consultant to various organizations and churches though out Texas, and regularly provides counseling to individuals and couples within the Dallas/Plano area.
Music Director: Linda Dyer
Linda Dyer holds a B. A. in Music Education with a concentration in Voice from Dallas Baptist University. Before taking her present teaching position with The Wylie Independent School District, she taught music for sixteen years, conducting the Wylie High School Choir for several years. Prior music work at FPC Plano includes Director of Children's Choirs from 1989 -2000. For nine consecutive years, she served as co-director of Presbytery Music Camps.
Linda is both thrilled and humbled to be on the other side of the choir experience as a conductor after so many years of singing in the FPC Chancel Choir.
 Director of Children's Education: Heidi Saylor
Heidi Saylor has a Masters in Counseling from Amberton University and has been licensed since September 2004 as a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Texas. In 2006, Heidi started working for the Child Abuse Prevention Center in Dallas as a Parent Aide Case Manager. Her passion is for helping children and their parents learn to live together in harmony and to grow together in love.
In 2005, Heidi joined the FPC staff as the Director of Children’s Education. Heidi strives to help make the stories of Christ come to life for the children as they grow in their understanding of their place within a Christian community, experiencing the Love of God and the joy of faith.
Youth Sponsors: Ted & Nancy McKown
Nancy and Ted have been vounteer youth leaders at First Presbyterian Plano since joining the church in 1994. Their philosophy is that they want to create a safe and nurturing place that the youth can grow in their faith through a balanced program of bible study, mission and service, fun and fellowship as well as providing opportunities where youth can network with other Christian youth.
Nancy and Ted met at the University of Tulsa and were married in 1978. They served as volunteer youth leaders at College Hill Presbyterian, in Tulsa, OK., from 1979 to 1993 before coming to Plano. They have two children, a son, Neil, and a daughter, Leslie. Nancy is a manager of centralized data integrity at Texas Health System, Dallas. Ted is a special education teacher with the Plano Independent School District.
Church Secretary: Lynne Schapeler
Lynne Schapeler became a member of FPC/Plano in 1978 and has been the church secretary for 26 years. For Lynne, this is more than a job...it is a ministry for Lynne and her second home. First Presbyterian Church of Plano is truly the best place to be...working and worshipping for and with her church family.
Lynne and her husband, Stan, have been married for 41 years; they lived in Missouri and Kansas before moving to Texas in 1978. They have two sons and "daughters"; Brett & Angela, and Brian & Angie. and two grandchildren, Brenden & Hanna.
